Direct Cremation - FAQ

1. How is the Delco Cremation program different than other cremation providers?

2. What does Direct Cremation mean?

3. How long does the process take from start to finish?

4. Can I pre-plan a direct cremation?

Answer: Direct Cremation means removing a person's body directly from the place of death to the crematorium - the body is placed in refrigeration, not embalmed, viewed or prepared for any services except for the cremation itself - upon completion the cremains are immediately returned to the family.

Answer: Typically, the process can take anywhere from 5-7 days - state and county permits must be filed prior to the cremation process, as well as the filing of the PA Death Certificate.

Answer: Yes - anyone can pre-plan and pre-pay a direct cremation with one of Delco Cremation's licensed Funeral Directors. Contact our office at 610-892-1970 for a pre-planning packet and what the next steps are.

Answer While other local funeral homes charge upwards of $3,000-$5,000 for direct cremations, Delco Cremation packages start at $995 -- The Delco Cremation program offers the most AFFORDABLE cremation packages in Delaware County.  The process is streamlined and completed easily over the phone or via e-mail with a Licensed Funeral Director .
